چکیده

We develop a time-dependent random-matrix theory describing the influence of a time-dependent perturbation on mesoscopic conductance fluctuations in open quantum dots. The effect of external field is taken into account to all orders of perturbation theory, and our results are applicable to both weak and strong fields. We obtain temperature and magnetic field dependences of conductance fluctuations. The amplitude of conductance fluctuations is determined by electron temperature in the leads rather than by the width of electron-distribution function in the dot. The asymmetry of conductance with respect to inversion of applied magnetic field is the main feature allowing to distinguish the effect of direct suppression of quantum interference from the simple heating if the frequency of external radiation is larger than the temperature of the leads \v@T .

SPIN TRANSPORT MEASUREMENTS IN GaAs QUANTUM DOTS

This thesis explores the spin dynamics of lateral quantum dots in GaAs/AlGaAs heterostructures, including the first demonstration of a geometry capable of measuring mesoscopic spin currents. The term “quantum dot” as used in this thesis refers to partiallyconfined regions connected to two leads by quantum point contacts. Because the quantum dots investigated in these experiments are gate-tunabl...

Interaction corrections to transport due to quasibound states in open quantum dots

We formulate a many-body model of transport in open quantum dots, which is based upon the idea of an enhanced electron–electron interaction in the vicinity of a quasibound state. Our studies suggest that the effect of including this peaked interaction is to increase the amplitude of the conductance fluctuations, beyond the value expected from a single-particle treatment. While the role of inter...

Quantum Chaos in Open versus Closed Quantum Dots: Signatures of Interacting Particles

This paper reviews recent studies of mesoscopic fluctuations in transport through ballistic quantum dots, emphasizing differences between conduction through open dots and tunneling through nearly isolated dots. Both the open dots and the tunnelcontacted dots show random, repeatable conductance fluctuations with universal statistical properties that are accurately characterized by a variety of t...

Conductance in quantum wires by three quantum dots arrays

A noninteracting quantum-dot arrays side coupled to a quantum wire is studied. Transport through the quantum wire is investigated by using a noninteracting Anderson tunneling Hamiltonian. The conductance at zero temperature develops an oscillating band with resonances and antiresonances due to constructive and destructive interference in the ballistic channel, respectively. Moreover, we have fo...

Effect of asymmetric quantum dot rings in electron transport through a quantum wire

The electronic conductance at zero temperature through a quantum wire with side-connected asymmetric quantum ring (as a scatter system) is theoretically studied using the non-interacting Hamiltonian Anderson tunneling method. In this paper we concentrate on the configuration of the quantum dot rings. We show that the asymmetric structure of QD-scatter system strongly influences the amplitude an...
